Coyote Ousted By Pack Frolics With Neighborhood Dogs Alarming Owners

In a heartwarming tale of wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, a lone coyote named Carmine found not only a new home but also a companion in another coyote named Wilee at the Yellow River Wildlife Sanctuary. This story began when wildlife rescuer Brandon received multiple calls from concerned citizens about a coyote roaming their neighborhoods and interacting with their dogs. Carmine, the coyote in question, would often appear on people’s back porches and seemed to be comfortable around humans and their pets. This led Brandon and his team to suspect that Carmine may have been ousted from his pack or possibly hand-raised by humans. Believing that it was important to capture and relocate Carmine to a safe environment, they began monitoring his movements and setting traps.

After carefully observing Carmine’s behavior, Brandon and his team were finally able to capture him. Surprisingly, Carmine remained calm throughout the ordeal, making the transfer process much smoother. He was then taken to the Yellow River Wildlife Sanctuary, where he was kept in quarantine for a month to ensure he was healthy and acclimated to his new surroundings.

Meanwhile, another coyote named Wilee was already residing at the sanctuary after being confiscated from her previous owners. The staff at Yellow River believed that Carmine would be a perfect companion for Wilee, but they were also concerned that the two might not get along due to Carmine’s potentially wilder nature.

To ensure a successful introduction, the staff decided to take a slow and cautious approach. They placed the two coyotes in separate enclosures for a couple of days, allowing them to observe and get used to each other. Finally, when they felt it was safe to do so, they opened the door between the enclosures.

To everyone’s delight, Carmine and Wilee immediately hit it off, frolicking and playing together as if they had been friends for years. In the end, Carmine and Wilee found safety, sanctuary, and companionship at the Yellow River Wildlife Sanctuary, thanks to the dedicated efforts of Brandon and its staff. Their story serves as a reminder that even wild animals can form deep connections and that every creature deserves a chance at a safe and happy life.
