Mini tests the PetSafe® ScoopFree™ Self-Cleaning Litter Box

Hi everyone,

Some of you may remember that our own (at the time 2!) kitties already had a chance to review the PetSafe® ScoopFree Self-Cleaning Litter Box almost 4 years ago! Yes that’s how long our blog has been going on for. ; )

Product Review: PetSafe® ScoopFree Self-Cleaning Litter Box

Today we are back to look at the fantastic self-cleaning litter box once again! See one of our good friends and her cat Mini who has occasional guest blog appearances was looking for a solution to her litter box.

Mini’s owner has to travel a lot for work and while she has a cat sitter that comes around to feed Mini in the mornings and evening she just couldn’t bear the thought of Mini having to use a dirty Litter Tray during the day… Which is why we came up with the idea of having her trial the PetSafe® ScoopFree Self-Cleaning Litter Box

The above is what the litter tray looked like when it first came out of the box before we moved it into Mini’s final litter tray position.

As Mini is incredibly shy we went for using the litter tray unhooded. This is a good idea when you’ve got a cat that gets easily frightened and may feel trapped inside a hooded litter tray as there is only one exit. In fact we only managed to get the feature image by luring her out with some valerian toys from 4cats.de

While we weren’t able to capture photos of her actually using the litter tray due to her shy nature her owner and cat sitter were both delighted with how the litter tray made their life so much easier. The times of having to scoop out poop and wee by hand were finally a thing of the past. Instead all that has to be done is once the crystals turn yellowish or the poop compartment is full you just put it all back into the disposable tray and put the tray lid back on before disposing of it.

Also the disposable trays are very easy to switch out as you simply slide them in underneath the electrical unit / slide them out.

The only thing we’d recommend with the disposable trays is to seal them up with sellotape after putting the lid on to avoid things sliding out if you forget to hold it shut while disposing of it.

Below a video by PetSafe® on how it works!

We hope you found this useful and don’t forget for further details of the functions of this litter tray you can check out our previous review on the hooded litter tray version.

Thanks,

Marc
