Can Rabbits eat Papaya?

Also known as a pawpaw or paaw, the Papaya is native to the tropics of the Americas in the warmer regions. It is widely grown for its fruit which is ripe when it feels soft and its skin has got an amber to orange colour.

They are often used as a food, in many types of cuisine dishes and also as a cooking aid and in traditional medicine.

So can Rabbits Eat Papaya at all?

Lets take a look at its nutritional data and find out more. In particular, its calcium, sugar, phosphorus, acidic, fibre, fat and sodium content is of most interest as far as bunnies are concerned.

As you can see papaya contains a hint of phosphorus, calcium and a little acidic content. They do contain quite a bit of sugar.

This means that rabbits can Eat Papaya, but keep it to a minimum as it is quite sweet and in small segments.

Avoid giving them the seeds and skin though.
