Choose a dog that fits your lifestyle. After centuries of breeding, the modern dog is one of the most  varied species of animal on earth. While there’s probably a dog to suit every lifestyle, not all dogs will fit  your specific needs.   Some want a dog to cuddle, or some may want it to guard for them, or some may want it just as a  companion. Look for your needs and then go for a dog.   Write down the needs and temperament of the breed, as well as how you will meet those needs.  If it’s going to take significant effort to change your lifestyle, you need to choose a different dog.  Give your dog a practical name. Calling your dog by a particular name can enhance the bond between  both of you. It will respond to you nicely and will follow what you say.  If your dog looks at you when you say his name, you know he’s learned it.  Create a positive association with his name so he’ll continue to focus on you when you say it. Praise him  when he responds to his name, and give him treats.  Decide a time for training.  Fix a 15-20 period for the training. But this isn’t will be the only time when you train your dog, the  training continues whole day in little actions that your dog does.   While training your dog, be calm and polite. You should keep encouraging your dog. Any part of agitation  can deteriorate your dog’s will to learn. Producing a well trained dog requires much determination and  conviction.   Train your dog on an empty stomach. Keep in mind the dog’s temperament. Always encourage a happy  end to the training session. Keep good knowledge of the equipment you are using in training the dog.   Be close to your dog and tell him politely what you want it do.  Take it to public places after few days.  Give it treats for doing good but discontinue them eventually.  Teach him to ‘sit’ and ‘stand’. That’s the basics. Other things come after this.  Praise him when he does good. This will establish a great relationship with you and give him good  training habits.
