Dogs love to eat, as much as we want. So we usually see them begging for more. With those big pitiful begging eyes, we often give them what we often eat on the table. Our four-legged friends loves plenty of food and lots of it, but bear in mind though that not all food we eat are Healthy for dogs. So, what Human Foods can a Dog eat?

Chicken meat

 While it is readily available almost everywhere, it can be cooked a variety of ways. Cooked chicken meat is a perfectly suitable snack or meal additive, but never ever feed our dogs cooked chicken bones. If we do, there might be s possibility they splinter into shards which can cause choking and serious damage to the mouth, throat, or intestines. Cooking can also remove nutrients from the bones. On the other hand, both raw chicken and raw chicken bones are healthy for dogs.

Cheese

If your dog doesn’t have a problem regarding lactose intolerance, cheese is an excellent treat choice. But among varieties of cheese, cottage cheese is the best and is often fed to dogs because it is high in protein, calcium and is bland and easy to digest. Surely, our pets would love them.

Carrots

This healthy vegetable are good for dogs since they are rich in fiber and Vitamin A while being low in calories. They make great snacks when chewed raw plus it is healthy for your dog’s teeth. If you find your dog overweight, carrots are a great choice as treats because of their low-calorie content.

Yogurt

Yogurt is a full packed of protein, calcium, digestive cultures. Hence, it is excellent treat to improve your  dog’s health. But make sure that the yogurt your feed your pup includes live active cultures and is non-fat with no sweetener or flavor

Fresh or Canned pumpkin 

Cooked pumpkin with no added sugars and spices is a great choice for dogs with a sensitive stomach. It is also an excellent source of vitamin A and fiber.

Eggs

Dogs can be feed raw or cooked eggs, since they both have great health benefits. Raw eggs should also be fed with a shell, giving our dogs the full amount of biotin, protein, riboflavin and selenium.Cooked eggs should be prepared plain with no salt and pepper , or any other seasoning.

In helping their dogs lose weight, many veterinarians highly recommend dog owners to incorporate green beans on their dog’s diet. They are rich in fiber but low in calories, making them a healthy treat alternative that is filling but won’t add any weight gain to your dog.

Salmon

This fish is very rich in healthy Omega-3 fatty acids and is typically the fish to make fish pils for our pets. Whether unseasoned cooked salmon or capsules, giving your dog these treats will provide them necessary vitamins to keep them healthy . But do not give your dog uncooked salmon for a reason.

Peanut butter

Peanut butter is also one of the best treats we can give our dog. It is packed full protein, healthy fats, niacin, Vitamin B & E.

Apple

A saying goes, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.”  While it is true for us humans, it is even so for dogs. Sliced apples are healthy and tasty treats for dogs that are full of phytonutrients, Vitamin A and vitamin C. They can also be given with the skin on, but never ever feed your dogs the seeds as they naturally contain cyanide, which is toxic for humans, even more so for dogs.
