5 Tips to Save Money on Groceries

Hey everyone,

I have decided to give you more ways you can save money on groceries this week. I will be giving you 5 tips today, tomorrow, and Thursday.

Today and tomorrow’s tips will mostly revolve around the Meal planning process of grocery shopping.

Here they are:

  • Try a meatless once a week. Meat usually increases the price of a meal you create. It’s cheaper to do vegetable stew or a baked potato than it would be to have a burger night.

  • If you have to do a meat meal, do one with chicken, turkey, or pork over doing one with beef (unless it’s ground beef that less than $2 per pound) or seafood. Poultry and pork are usually cheaper per pound than beef and seafood are.

  • Make a pasta meal once a week. Most pasta is usually around $1.00 per pound and the sauces usually aren’t that expensive either (some brands are about $1.00 or less per can).

  • Have breakfast for dinner one night. Ingredients for breakfast meals usually don’t cost a lot of money. Eggs and sausage are usually less than $1 per serving.

  • Try making meals where you can reuse ingredients for other meals that week. Let’s say you found a great deal on boneless skinless chicken breasts (less than $2 per pound). A big package of them can be used to make chicken alfredo, grilled chicken sandwiches, and chicken fajitas.

If you have any tips you would like to share on Meal Planning, please let me know.
