Five Cheap Meals That Will Guarantee Leftovers

  1. Spaghetti or Pasta : This is so easy to make and it tastes just as good on the second day. This meal only requires a few things; a pack of hamburger meat, pasta sauce of your choice, and noodles. This meal is under $15 depending on the items you use. You might even spend less than that.
  2. Crockpot Meals : These are honestly my favorite meals. Anything you can put in the crockpot and cook while you can do something.Very convenient for a working woman. My favorite is beef roast with potatoes and carrots. This meal is under $20 depending on the items you use or if you omit anything. And you can cook some white rice as a side. Very delicious.
  3. Baked Chicken : Very tasty. I love baked chicken and you can easily make this a meal with some sides — rice, beans, salad etc. You can’t go wrong with this meal. It is cheaply priced, the chicken plus two sides should be less than $20 depending on the items you use. I usually go for a green vegetable and some rice as a side. But to each its own.
  4. Box Meals (Banquet, Hamburger Helper) : Now these are fast great meals to cook. These meals are equally as delicious too. Some of the box meals require you to purchase the meat, others don’t. And I wouldn’t recommend the left overs for tomorrow’s dinner because I reckon you wouldn’t have that much left for a whole family. But it would be great for mom or dad’s lunch. These meals are under $10 or about $10 depending on brand. To be frugal you should get the meals that don’t require you to purchase the meat and you’ll save a little extra for a separate meal.
  5. Breakfast food (Like Denny’s) : This meal can be very very cheap and your family will be satisfied as well. I would recommend maybe some eggs, a cheap packet of pancakes for a $1 (you can also make waffles with the batter), bacon (microwave bacon is very cheap), and sausage. This meal is at most $10 and most of the time every family has these ingredients already in the house. So this meal is very convenient as well and doesn’t require you to stand over a stove all day. And if you make enough, you can warm it up for breakfast the next morning
