Is Cable Too Expensive? Five Alternatives to Cable Television!

Tags: movie cable

The price of Cable is too ridiculous. Many people spend well over $200 for cable. But I’m here to tell you that Cable is not needed to still enjoy your favorite shows and movies. Continue Reading if you would like to save some money and downgrade your cable package but still have the same benefits you did when you had all your cable features. Streaming is the new alternative. I will mention some streaming options that will leave you with extra cash in your pockets.

With these streaming packages, you can stream them on Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku TV, etc. They are also streamable on any computer, tablet, phone etc. Find out what best suits you.

  1. Hulu Plus : Plans start at $7.99 monthly! You can enjoy many up-to-date tv shows and movies. I would recommend Hulu if you are a tv series fanatic. Also if you hate advertisements you can pay a little more to opt out of those advertisements. Hulu has a big variety of movies and its a reasonable price.
  2. Netflix : Plans start at $7.99 monthly! Netflix has various movies and tv shows. Their is even a kid section of movies and shows. They try to update their movies regularly. I find myself sometimes looking for a movie to watch for about 30 minutes. I wish they had a better variety and more movies though. But you cannot complain when you are only paying $8 a month.
  3. Amazon Prime : ($99/yr. / $49/yr. for students) Streams everything from movies to music! Price might be steep but you will getting a great bargain especially when you can decrease your cable bill. You can also download movies and tv episodes to phone and tablet devices. This is by far one of my favorite streaming platforms.
  4. Sling Television : $20 a month (Add-ons : $5 extra monthly) Sling TV lets you stream live TV. Everything else I mentioned (Netflix, Hulu, etc.) gives you specific shows and movies while Sling gives you for example the ESPN channel where you can watch every program thats playing on that channel. It is very awesome and great if you decide to cut some of your channels off. You can recover those channels with Sling for only $20 a month. They do not have every channel but the ones that are provided are really decent.
  5. Tubi TV: (Free) I ran across Tubi TV as well and learned that it streams tv shows and movies too. If you wanted to watch a movie but did not want to commit to a streaming service, Tubi is great for you. Since it’s free, their isn’t a huge variety but FREE is good enough for me.
