1. Where is your savings account? How do you expect to save money without a savings account. Get you a savings account and start saving. Transfer a few dollars or more every pay day to the savings account and before you know it you will be prepared for emergencies or a rainy day. You can also arrange for the bank to take out money and transfer it, just in case forget.

2. Anything that’s not serving a purpose in your life; Let It Go! This could be loaning money to friends/family with no return or simply buying junk that is deemed useless. Instead spend money on your business. The $20 dollars you spend on a subscription box can be used to establish your website.

3. Stay Organized and Be Prepared! Doing everything ahead of time and knowing how much things will cost will save you a bunch of time, money, and headaches. For instance, instead of spending money on quick fast food options during the busy work week, meal prepping leaves the family and you satisfied.

4. Stash your change from cash transactions in a jar. Every time you use cash at a restaurant or at the mall and you receive cash back, keep the change and stash it in a safe place when you get home. I’m also aware of banks offering programs that do something similar i.e. rounding your purchase amount to the nearest dollar and you get to keep the difference in a savings account. Contact your bank to see if the program can benefit your pockets. This is a great way to save.

5. 2017 is the year of keeping track of your budgeting. Make sure to get a budget planner or a calendar to plan out expenses so you are aware of your money. Writing everything down will help you keep an upper hand on everything related to money in your house.
