Woman Arrested For £300k Fraudulent Debit Card Manchester Shopping Spree

A women has been Arrested in connection to a bank card fraud case which saw a staggering £300,000 spent on a four day Shopping Spree in Manchester in July of last year.

As part of the shopping spree, gold bars were purchased, totaling £26,000, making them the most extravagant purchase on the Stolen Card. In addition to the gold, the fraudster also made off with rings, necklaces and two Rolexes, worth £18,000 each.

Detectives investigating the case discovered that the majority of items purchased were from high-end fashion brand Gucci, with a significant proportion of these purchases being made in department store Selfridges.

The stolen card was also used in a number of betting shops, bureau de changes and jewellery stores.

The Dedicated Card and Payment Crime Unit of the City of London Police arrested a 33 year old woman in connection to the case in Handsworth, Birmingham.

The woman was held on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud before police released her on bail until November, pending further investigation.
