In the 1920's when alcohol was illegal, people made their own Wine in their bathtubs. It is easier than you might think. I started with Apple Juice from the grocery store and made wine and hard cider. It took about five minutes to mix it up then waited for about a month. It wasn't half bad.
Apple Cider:
2 quarts Apple juice
1 tablespoon of distiller's yeast
Fermented (bubbled) for 2 days
Secondary fermentation (settled) for 2 weeks
Then added 1/2 cup of sugar (next time it'll be brown sugar!)
Dry Apple Wine:
2 quarts Apple juice
1 cup of sugar (double the sugar to make sweet wine)
1 tablespoon of distiller's yeast
Fermented (bubbled) for 6 days
Secondary fermentation (settled) for 4 weeks
The airlocks cost $3 each. Here is one seller on Amazon.com
