Yes, a Sequel is in the Works!

For those of you who have read, Adrift on a Sea of Stars and want more, I am happy to say that I am busy working on a sequel.  With any luck, it will be out by Christmas.  (Fingers crossed and knock on wood)  The working title is, Earth not Forgotten.  It will be a space exploration story like the "Adrift" but with more action.  I just bought some cover art so I have to finish it!

In "Earth Remembered", an alien civilization discovers the derelict of one of the First Fleet starships.  They are able to recover the human crew of digitized minds.  With help of the humans and driven by their own agendas, an expedition sent to Earth.  Spoiler, "Humanity is not extinct though they have had a very bad millennium."

Like Wasn't Tomorrow Wonderful, Adrift on a Sea of Starsand many of the stories in The Puppy of Doom, the plot of Earth Remembered will have woven in it the conclusions of several thought experiments.

Whatever happened to the sequel to Beyond the Galactic Core?

The short answer is that I haven't given up on Wreckage of Eternity.  I have eight chapters done and holding.  I keep getting distracted with other projects.  This line of stories is more action than deep thoughts.  In the first book, on a young colony world, Gail Parker accidentally acquires an alien artifact from an nearlyextinct ancient race.  This propels the story from start system to start system, bringing humanity into cross hairs of an expanding alien civilization before it is ready to defend itself.  Only Gail with he new found super tech can stand up to the Qwellerons. As immensely powerful as she is, she has her limits including unable to be everywhere at once.  In kind, the Qwellerons are clever and with each defeat and success, their strategies evolve to outmaneuver with an artifact that give her powers, in the image of gods.

Beyond the Galactic Core

Since I don't plan on writing any more stories in this universe beyond Wreckage of Eternity, I need to answer all of the lingering questions.  I had thought that I had left Gail and the starship in a safe place at the end of Beyond the Galactic Core.  Later I realized that they were in big trouble.  Just how the crew of the Star Liberty were going to get down to the artificial World is the making of it's own short story.

The two challenges I have to solve are how to structure the book so you don't have to wait several chapters before you get to know the main character, Gail.  With all of the other exciting plot threads afoot, she keeps getting pushed into the background.

The other problem I have is that with the envisioned ending, I have a big plot disconnect with the far future story in The Puppy of Doom, Mark of the Civilized.  The current ending is unfortunately a setup for yet another book which I don't want to write.

What I want to work on are several of unique stories.  Not series.  (sigh) Yet, my current effort Earth Remembered...  Is a sequel.

What is the plan after Earth Remembered?

Because it takes so much time to write a book, I have to find it interesting.  I'll write whatever catches my interest at the time.  But in general, I want to do another time travel story.  As much fun as Wasn't Tomorrow Wonderful was, I don't want to write a sequel.  I was to produce a collection of short stories and books that don't have to be read in and particular order.

I also continue to play with the idea of a new money book.  It would include in it, 100 Ways to Save a Dollar and How to Make an Extra Dollar.  It would be an attempt at a comprehensive guide to help the reader fix or improve their finances.  I'd like it to be a reference book.  Something where the reader has a need then only has to read a useful solution

My books for Kindle and paperback are on Amazon.  Many of my books are for sale or for free on iTunes and Barnes and Noble, a complete list can be found on Smashwords.
