11 March 2016: I have a new novel in the works. Somebody who read Adrift on a Sea of Stars and Earth not Forgotten, asked me a couple of month ago and asked it I would write a third book in this series. I was open to the idea but only had half a plot. He offered some suggestions. A few I thought would work.
Although I had left humanity in good shape at the end of Earth not Forgotten, he said that he found the aliens ominous. Perhaps exploring what it would be like for Earth to be part of this interstellar civilization could be interesting while trying to keep with the theme of exploration and venturing into the unknown. At this point, I am about halfway through the first draft. I hope to finish by Summer, if work and family obligations don't slow me down too much.
The Working tile is The Tarden Agenda. I wanted to use Islands in the Sky, but Arthur C. Clark's short story is too famous.
10 May 2016: The story is complete. I am now doing my 6 read throughs polishing and hunting for continuity problems.
