Amazon KDP Select: How much is a KENP point worth to an author?

When an author enters his/her book into the Kdp Select Program, Amazon Prime members can read the ebook for free.  Amazon monitors how many pages the reader reads and awards the author brownie points, called KENP.  The equation behind the calculation of KENP points is complicated and how much a point is worth when it is time to pay the author changes every month.   But I think I have it figured it out!

Looking at my monthly paychecks, I have been averaging .45 cents per point.  Yes, less than a half cent a point. Since my novels all sell for 99 cents, I get a profit of $35 cents per book.  So, I get paid the equivalent of one ebook sale for every 78 points.

Now, most of my ebooks are in the KDP Select program so please read for free so I can get paid!
