National Youth Development Summit 2012



The National Youth Development Summit 2012is organized by the Kaakbay Youth Development Initiatives (KYDI), Silliman University, and Silliman University Student Government, with the support of the National Youth Commission, the United Nations Development Program, Social Watch Philippines, the National Association of UNESCO Clubs in the Philippines, and the Office of Rep. Jocelyn Limkaichong (1D Negros Oriental) to the promote the interests of the youth in the country.

The summit will be held in Silliman University, DumagueteCityon December 16-19, 2012. The NYDS 2012 involves primarily a series of talks and competitions that aim to inform the Filipino youth of various social realities present in the Philippinestoday, and their role in national development. Speakers from multiple perspectives were invited to facilitate the talks and discussions explored in the NYDS.
 
Participation to the National Youth Development Summit is open to the youth of the Philippines.

The Summit taps the collective capacity of young leaders as proactive movers of the nation’s future. The Summitthus encourages the participation of youth leaders from civil society movements and organization, Student Councils/Governments, Sangguniang Kabataan members and officers, and young entrepreneurs, public servants, executives, and legislators.
