You can not remove the rentals from the parks, they should be returned to a rental location before leaving.  If you are park hopping and visiting more than one park in a single day, simply present your rental receipt at another park to obtain a replacement. Likewise, if you misplace your stroller, replacements are available with a receipt at various locations throughout the Resort, based on availability.

Third Party Stroller Rentals:

You can also choice to rent a stroller from a third party. Listed below are Disney’s recommended private companies in the local area that offer stroller rentals. If you choose a Disney recommended provider they can deliver the stroller to your Disney hotel (and non-Disney hotels).

Getting around Disney With a Stroller:

Located outside of each attraction, there are designated “stroller parking lots”. If you leave your stroller somewhere other than the designated areas, prepare for it to be moved. Don’t panic cast members move and organize strollers even in the designated lots.  Just find a cast member to ask where the most likely spot they may have moved it to.

If you take the monorail and transportation boats, strollers can be wheeled on.  For all other Disney transportation like the buses and the Magic Kingdom WDW Railroad, your strollers will need to be folded down to make room for other passengers. Before you board either the buses or railroad, make sure you have your stroller already folded up and ready to carry on.

Pros and Cons of Stroller Rental and Bringing Your Own:

If you have an infant or baby you will probably want to bring your own stroller.  The rentals are a little large for a young baby.  Also, rental strollers are hard plastic and they do not recline.  Also, depending on the weather the plastic can become very hot and they are not very comfortable. Therefore, bring a towel if you are renting to at least help with the heat.

There are no storage compartments like a normal stroller. If you bring your own stroller you will have enough storage where you can have a little cooler for snacks and water bottles; with still enough space for a diaper bag.

You can’t take rentals out of the park.  After being at Disney all day, most likely your child will be cranky or tired. Making them walk back to the bus, then to the car, and then to the hotel room or having someone carry them may be challenging (especially depending on how much they weigh!).

I stayed at Disney’s Polynesian Resort which has the monorail connected to the park.  When we were ready to leave, I just wheeled her on the monorail where she promptly fell asleep.  Sofia stayed asleep for a solid hour and a half while we continued to hang out at the resort. Had I rented, I would not have been able to do this. Here she is zonked out, still clinging to her princess wand from her experience at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

Lastly, whether you rent or bring your own stroller you should customize it.  Do this by attaching a balloon or brightly colored ribbons to your stroller to set it apart from the others.  Having your stroller stand out makes it much easier to locate when it’s in a sea of either black or tan strollers in the stroller parking spots.
