Three-year-old's are right at that perfect age to introduce Board Games into their play. It's a perfect way to sit down with your little one, spend quality time and have a blast. Board games are a fun way for your child to learn and also offer many developmental opportunities. With the holidays quickly approaching, you should definitely think about adding a board game to your shopping list. Not quite sure if there's even board games available for children as young as three? Well, look no further because there are TONS of awesome board games you're three-year-old is sure to love.

We've compiled a list of some of the best board games designed specifically for three-year-old's. So get your holiday shopping list ready and make sure to add to jot down these great affordable board games for that special little three-year-old in your life. As you make your way through the list, you'll notice that some of the titles are pink and some are in black. The titles in pink are the board games that I've actually bought for my three-year-old son and we've played, so you'll also find a short review of my thoughts in addition (I figured my short review may also help you.)

1.CHUTES AND LADDERS BOARD GAME

A classic game created in the 70's, you probably remember playing Chutes and Ladders yourself as a child. Now you can relive your childhood memories climbing up ladders and sliding down the slides while playing with your little one. Be the first to land on the 100th spot and you win the game. Go up the ladders and the chutes, land on good deads and climb the ladders to move closer to being the winner, but land on a bad deed and ride the chutes back down. This game is great for children learning to count because it encourages basic addition skills and doesn't require any reading to play. For two to four players.

2.CANDY LAND BOARD GAME

Ah, another great classic board game! This is actually one of my favorite board games from my childhood. I don't know if it was all the bright colors or the super cute characters and candy. Choose your cards, move your pawn and let your imagination soar as you make your way to the castle to win! Either way, this fun game is great with teaching colors and counting.For two to four players.

3.DON'T WAKE DADDY

Be the first player to tiptoe from your bed, past all the noisy obstacles, to the refrigerator for a midnight snack without waking Daddy. I actually recently bought this game for my son and we have a blast playing this game. He absolutely loves when Daddy pops up from his bed! This game teaches colors and counting.For two to four players.

4.PANCAKE PILE-UP

With this game, your child has to stack and serve pancakes to match the order on their cards. Be the first to correctly complete a pancake stack and top it with a pat of butter! This game is great for teaching your child how to follow a sequence, beginning math skills and also helps develop gross motor skills, balance and coordination. Unlike typical board games, this game actually encourages active, physical play.

My Review:This is absolutely adorable. This game is a little different that your traditional board game because each player has their own little board game. Each board features a bedroom with different items.  It definitely helps with taking the fear of monsters away for my son because he gets to be the boss of the monsters. It also let's your child's imagination run wild lol! I really like this game and highly recommend it for your little one!

13.FIVE LITTLE MONKEYS JUMPING ON THE BED GAME

Five Little Monkeys jumping on the bed game is based on the award-winning illustrator Eileen Christelow's Five Little Monkeys well known book series.

Players need to act out activities performed before bed (such as brushing teeth, combing hair, taking a bath, putting on pajamas, and then getting all 5 monkeys onto the spring-action bed before it pops up and knocks your monkeys off the bed. The first player to achieve this, wins.

This game helps with developing your child's fine motor skills.For two or more players.

My Review:This is probably my son's favorite game of all. He loves waiting and watching for the monkey's to pop off the bed lol. Part of the reason I think he loves this game so much is due to the fact that we read the Five Little Monkeys book series regularly with the coordinating finger puppets, and he loves singing the song with me. I agree, this is a really fun game that I enjoy playing with him as well!

14.MONKEY BEACH PRESCHOOL GAME-THE FIND AND FEEL TREASURES GAME

Players need to find the hidden treasure buried throughout the island before the volcano erupts. Each player takes a turn trying to feel for the hidden treasure shapes placed around the soft cloth island. There are two different treasures for each shape.

Teaches kids tactile and visual recognition of shapes as well as vocabulary building.

15.THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR- TWIRL AND TOSS GAME- By University Games

Players have to help The Very Hungry Caterpillar catch his lunch, by tossing soft-stuffed fruit at the electronic twirling caterpillar. The first person to land all three pieces of fruit on the target wins the game.

This skill and action game helps children develop social skills and coordination.

My Review:This game is really neat because the game board is over six feet long! It comes with hundreds of objects to find while playing the game. I like this game because there just so many fun things to do and my son thinks the huge game board is so cool. This is a great game for any Richard Scarry fans!

21.AVALANCHE FRUIT STAND

This cute Avalanche Fruit Stand game is played by spinning the wheel and using the tweezers to pick or place the fruit without spilling the fruit out of the stand.

This game helps develop fine motor skills (pincer grasp that prepares children for handwriting). It also teaches colors and fruit vocabulary.
