How To Do Marble French Tip Nails Yourself

Ready to give yourself a set of gorgeous marble nails?

This simple step-by-step guide for doing your very own marble French tip nails at home is easy to follow and will leave you looking like you’ve walked straight out of the salon!

A super quick and easy way to create marble effect tips, this simple method is ideal for all skill levels. So whether you’re a nail art novice or already consider yourself a pro, you can rock fabulous marble nails in no time.

Step 1 Prep prep prep!

Clean your nails with a nail polish remover for a grease-free base to work from. Then you can file and shape your nails as required, paying attention to creating a smooth edge with a buffer to smooth out any ridges.

Push your cuticles back to elongate your nails and use a good quality cuticle oil or cream to keep them soft. Before you apply polish, always wipe over each nail with some extra remover to ensure you get rid of any residue from the filing. 

Step 2 – Apply your base coat(s).

Step 3 – When your base is completely dry, fill a cup with water and add drops of your chosen marble colors into the water one at a time (but as quickly as you can so the polish doesn’t dry!).

Step 4 – Before the polish dries, dip a toothpick into the cup and swirl the floating polish. Different swirls will create different patterns, so have a play around!

Step 5 – Dip the tips on your nails into the water at a 45-degree angle, almost in a small ‘scooping motion’ to pick up the swirling polish. 

Step 6 – Clean up! Your fingertips will be covered in excess marble polish, to use a q-tip or cotton pad to gently wipe off and clean up your fingertips.

Step 7 – Once completely dry, add any nail art or gems if using and then a coat of good-quality clear top coat.
