Make sure to use lukewarm water when cleansing, as hot water, can strip your skin of its natural oils. It’s essential to read more about any cleanser you use to ensure that it’s appropriate for your skin type.

If you’re dealing with acne, look for cleansers that contain benzoyl peroxide, which can help reduce inflammation and bacteria. While you should cleanse your face twice a day, it’s essential to be gentle with your skin. 

2. Exfoliate Twice a Week 

Exfoliating helps remove dead skin cells from the surface of your skin, allowing for better absorption of other products and a smoother, more even-looking complexion. To exfoliate your face, use a gentle scrub or an exfoliator made specifically for your skin type.

This helps protect against sun damage that can cause wrinkles and other signs of aging. Sunscreen also helps shield skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays from the sun, reducing the risk of skin cancer.

Make sure to look for a broad-spectrum sunscreen that has a water-resistant formula for long-lasting protection. Apply it in the morning after washing your face and follow up with a moisturizer for best results.

5. Give Yourself a Facial Massage

Facial massages can do wonders for your skin. Giving yourself a facial massage stimulates lymphatic drainage, and encourages blood flow to the surface of your skin, which helps reduce puffiness and gives you a more youthful appearance.

Start by gently rubbing your palms together until they’re warm. Then place them on either side of your face and use small circular motions to massage your cheeks, chin, nose, and forehead.

You can also use your fingertips or knuckles to apply gentle pressure at specific points along the jawline and hairline for an extra deep massage. 

6. Use an Antioxidant Serum

Antioxidants are great for fighting free radicals in the skin, which can cause sun damage and wrinkles. Applying an antioxidant serum before moisturizing will help protect your skin from environmental hazards like pollution and airborne toxins.

Additionally, it will also give you a brighter complexion due to its anti-aging properties. It’s best to opt for a serum that contains Vitamin C, as this is one of the most powerful antioxidants available. This can be used both in the morning and at night for best results.
