• Little Artists – The Museum of Fine Arts,Houston

  Children ages 3 to 5 are invited to experience an exciting art adventure at the MFAH! Together with an adult caregiver, kids learn about the materials and process used to create different ceramic sculptures from throughout the Museum. This program includes a storybook circle, multi-sensory play, a tour of the galleries with a Museum educator, and making an art project in the studio.
  • $6 per child for MFAH members
  • $8 per child for nonmembers
  Adults can attend for free with general admission.
• Hand-On Houston: Glass Lens Paperweights – Houston Center for Contemporary Craft

  Stop by one of our favorite events… Hands On Houston at the Craft Museum!  This month your can make your own glass lens paperweight.  Just swing by to make your free project.
• Young Writers Workshop – Discover Green
  Saturday, September 3rd, 2016 | 10:30 AM -11:30 AM.
  Kids learn to express their thoughts an develop language skills. Presented by Houston Public Library/HPL Express and Discovery Green. Houston’s only free and open writing workshop for kids conducted by Writers In The Schools. Limited to 25 students, first come first serve.
• Learn a Language – Discover Green
  Saturday, September 3rd, 2016 | 11:30 AM -12:30 AM.
  Children will learn Spanish in fun and effective ways in these weekly classes for toddlers through 9 years old. Lessons taught each week are independent of one another! This children’s program will include the learning of: colors, numbers, days of the week, names of the months, how to introduce yourself in Spanish, shapes, weather, seasons, the alphabet and animals. Ages: Toddlers – 10 years.
• Sunday Family Zone – The Museum of Fine Arts,Houston
  Sunday, September 4th, 2016 | 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
  Families are invited to drop in and enjoy a variety of games, activities, looking guides, books, and mini-tours of the galleries. Each Sunday offers two storybook circles: one at 1:30 p.m. and the second at 3 p.m.
  
  
• Family Yoga – Discover Green
  Sunday, September 4th, 2016 | 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
  Practicing yoga helps to tone the body, and tune the mind. Learn to be calm, focus your energies and regain inner peace while improving physical strength. Emphasize awareness and relaxation through yoga classes led by instructors from Nia Moves. Ages 9+.

  Enjoy your day off relaxing at beautiful Rienzi! Activities for the whole family last all day. Drop by and discover the oasis of nature and art at the MFAH house museum for European decorative arts and paintings.

• Toddler Tuesdays: The Giving Tree – Discover Green

  Toddler Tuesdays is at Discovery Green September 6 through October 25, 2016.  Every Tuesday at 10:30 AM, parents and kids enjoy a free story time and activities with their favorite characters.

• Mommy Mingle Wednesday – Children’s Museum of Houston
  Wednesday, September 7th, 2016 | 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  Bring your little ones  to Tot*Spot (our exclusive exhibit for children 35 months and under), and mingle with other mommies during Mommy Mingle Wednesdays. Daddies, nannies and caretakers are welcome, too! Plus, enjoy free coffee and breakfast on us (while supplies last).
