My First Snow Holiday (Gulmarg)


I'm at a place which has a lot of ice like my fridge 
at home


Hahahahah....it's called Snow. It's like ice and 
it's very cold
This place is called Gulmarg, which is two hours away from Srinagar. And these Snow Peaks were an hour away from our hotel.
Gulmarg means 'Meadow of Flowers' but it has
a lot of snow too
Everyone at Gulmarg talked about this temple as
 a star attraction. A famous Bollywood song
was shot here in the '70s.
The song is "Jai Jai Shiv Shankar" with
yesteryear stars Mumtaz and Rajesh Khanna.
I guess you can't mistake the snow peaks and
pine trees of Gulmarg for anything else.



Let me tell you how we reached the snow peaks. 
We first rode on the horse up to the cable car.


My horse kept stopping to eat some green-green grass
And there were so many sheep eating grass all the time too 
Some horses just strayed in this Golf Course
in Gulmarg, which is more than hundred years
old and one of the highest golf courses
in the world


Then we stood in a loooong queue waiting for
 the cable car, while I had my morning milk.
These cable cars are called Gondola in Gulmarg.
When you sit inside this car, it slides in the air.
It very small in size but six people can
comfortably sit inside

It seemed Moma and DC (Daddy Cool) just loved
to squeeze in with me...hehehe..
Far below on the ground, I could see huts, sheep
and horses of the villagers



Some people decided to teeyek (trek) up to
the snow peaks instead of using the cable car.
This man looked like he was
shoooming (swimming)
in the snow
On the snow, I did some sledging and sliding
and played with snow balls
Moma and DC (Daddy Cool) were very naughty, throwing snow balls at me


Soon they got busy playing with each other!!!!
There was snow skiing as well but Moma said
I was too small to do it without safety gear
I went back by the Gondola with a lot of
happiness
When I got back to my hotel, I couldn't believe
that I had gone right up to those giant
snow peaks
