Well, Leroy and Leroy is all the creation of Nick Meyers. Leroy and Leroy is known for sketches about the quirks of Prairie life, have gained a global audience on social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.
Myers, who plays the jovial host of Leroy and Leroy, says the comedy has shown people that small towns in Saskatchewan are worth visiting. He’s thrilled with the response to the fictional duo, with fans reaching out from as far as New Zealand.
The easily digestible sketches last less than a minute and make fun of the oddities of rural Saskatchewan, such as the famously straight and flat roads or the choice of having West Street and West Road intersect in the tiny village of Marquis.

Myers has said in interviews that their comedy has been compared to The Red Green Show, Letterkenny, Trailer Park Boys, and the SCTV characters Bob and Doug McKenzie. He attributes it to “ingrained Canadian humor” that they’ve picked up and run with.
Lero and Leroy began producing videos a few years ago, but it wasn’t until he posted a shorter version to TikTok that they really took off. Their goal was to get 10,000 followers by the end of 2021, but it only took two weeks to reach that number. They’re now closing in on 500,000 followers on TikTok and over 350,000 on Instagram.

Myers says the sketches can have a far-reaching impact. For example, a video making fun of a parking sign in Moose Jaw resulted in the city councilor calling them and removing all the signs. Lero and Leroy were given one of the signs as a memento.
Fans from around the world have enjoyed the deadpan humor of Leroy and Leroy and some have expressed interest in visiting Saskatchewan. Myers has said it’s a great way to promote the beauty of the region and its people.
