Top Salad Ingredients

I love eating healthy, and a Salad a day is basically a requirement in our household for healthy eating. The challenge is building a salad, which can be creative too. That is why we decided to make our list of top salad add-on ingredients.

Olivo Amigo

Olivo Amigo has Olive Oil straight from Spain. I love that this is a women-founded company that takes Artisanal, Spanish products grown and produced in Spain and ships them straight to your house. What you see here is the balsamic vinegar, the Vitality, extra-virgin olive oil, and their Joy, extra-virgin olive oil. I absolutely love the idea that they have two different types of olive oil. This gives you a chance to see the difference in the quality of olive oil.

Capatriti

Capatriti is the classic olive oil that I grew up with. Coming from a Greek household in Queens, this was the standard, which we always ordered. It was on every single dinner table and at every restaurant. This is the standard that you can get via Instacart from any local supermarket and have it appear on your doorstep in time.

Ponti

Ponti is an Italian brand with a variety of vinegars. In the selection, you see they have a barbecue and a soy glaze, but I’m focusing on the balsamic, which is, of course, the best vinegar you can get. I also love that they even have a glaze using balsamic vinegar. They’ve been doing this since literally 1787, so 230 years and nine generations in the same family working on it.

Traverse Bay Farms

Traverse Bay Farms has a ton of different products, and you’ll see that this includes a nice cherry salsa and red jalapeño jam. But I happen to love the strawberry dressing, which is quick and easy to help build a salad. I also love that this is an independent food company, yet has won national food awards at multiple food competitions. Check them out for the dressing, and maybe while you are there, also look at the other products. I also love that they have an ongoing sale section, so you can add some sale items to your order too.

Primal Kitchen

Maybe you want to go a bit vegetarian in your salad, and Primal Kitchen can do just that. You’ll see that they have all of the usual products you need for a good salad…Mayo and Ranch dressing, but these are vegan versions. No animals were hurt, and nobody was going to be sad.  Who would’ve got that when you make a salad for your guests, it might not be vegetarian, yet, that can happen with mayo with other products. Now, you can be happy and serve a real vegan salad.
