So at the beginning of the year I tried moving these weekly round ups to be a forward looking Monday thing, rather than a Sunday retrospective... It didn't work out. Back to the traditional format it is!
With all the stud earrings finally (finally) made up, my plan for this week was to make some new clear silicone moulds, and then try out my new UV resin. I always use JDiction brand resin anyway, but last week they had the new formula version priced at three bottles for £20. It was a no brainer! Its selling point was less odour - and, fair play, there really is a noticeable difference. Normally I can't use UV resin for prolonged periods because it gives me an absolutely thumping headache, but I spent well over an hour working with it on Wednesday and nothing. Nada! I am definitely a convert to this new formula.
I also got an ultrasonic cleaner this week - check out my blog review - which has been so much fun to use. It is just the perfect piece of equipment for cleaning grime out of tiny crevices. After I made the new lot of silicone molds I put the miniatures in and it cleaned them perfectly, no need to waste time picking out all the gummy bits.
Away from miniatures, I'm working on going through all the typical folklore titles to pick out stories that are UFO adjacent. Lots of people who lose time to fairy circles and the like. I really want to get the general readership version of the UFO book finished by August. Then the detail obsessed ufologist version can continue slowly taking shape until the end of time... xD
I watched the Death in Paradise spin-off this week and it was actually really enjoyable. I'm still on the fence on how I feel about the detectives being physically present in flashback scenes, but I thought the music and editing was especially well done. I gave in and renewed my Kindle Unlimited subscription to check out a couple of books on the Voynich Manuscript and the latest Jack the Ripper book by Alexander Parker... Treves is a decent fit as a suspect, sure, but I remain unconvinced by the revenge against Warren motive and the whole idea of the murder sites being chosen via Masonic set square. (Not that I have any better ideas, but still!)
