The Truth Behind Men in Black by Jenny Randles
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Reading this reminded me all over again why Jenny Randles is one of the UK's best known authors when it comes to the strange and unusual - her work is always so eminently readable. I found myself wishing there was more detail and follow up of cases, but as a light casual read I couldn't fault it.
The Green Stone by Graham Phillips

I'm sure I must have heard of this before 2021 but when I stumbled across a mention of the story in a BUFORA journal I couldn't remember it at all. The best thing to do seemed to be to start right back at the beginning - and it's easy to see why it had the impact it did. The book is very well put together, mostly keeping the balance of detailed information versus keeping the narrative moving about right.
It didn't give me 'the creeps' in the way some of its contemporaries do, e.g. Clive Harold's 'The Uninvited', but I still found it a page turner and am already on the lookout for the sequel.

Well researched and nicely presented compendium of English calendar traditions and folk customs. In contrast to similar books it's more academic and down to earth. Your mileage may vary on how much that appeals!
