London highlights you can’t afford to miss this springtime

As the roadmap out of the UK’s current lockdown has been revealed by the Government, we can now see a light at the end of the tunnel. As a result of this roadmap and the growing success of the UK vaccine rollout, the country is looking to start opening up sooner rather than later and we can’t wait to take in our favourite London highlights!

So, whether you are taking in the outdoor COVID-safe sights this springtime as lockdown starts to ease, or you’re starting to plan your holidays for next year, here are some of the London highlights you can’t afford to miss this springtime.

London Eye

The London Eye is undoubtedly one of the most famous London highlights – or the UK’s for that matter. This observation wheel, also called the Millennium Wheel, is situated on the South Bank of the Thames, right next to Westminster Bridge.

This is a fantastic place to observe the London skyline all year round, but it is particularly beautiful to see the newly blossoming flowers and spring sunshine adorning the concrete jungle.

Kew Gardens

It goes without saying that the Royal Botanic Gardens are among the most cherished London highlights and one of our absolute favourites! The Kew Gardens UNESCO World Heritage site includes a huge 50,000 living plants to admire. This collection is among the most diverse plant collections in the world.

Whether you take a wander through the Princess of Wales Conservatory or experience the dramatic Rock Garden, Kew Gardens are jaw-dropping during the spring months.

Regent’s Park

For those of you not familiar with London, Regent’s Park is probably better known as the location of the London Zoo and an open-air theatre. However, it is also home to groups of cherry trees that blossom with Japanese cherry blossom over the springtime making it one of the most stunning London highlights at this time of year.

Hampton Court Palace

This royal palace that once belonged to King Henry VIII boasts an extensive garden growing herbs, vegetables and fruits galore. When the flowers start to bloom, these incredible gardens add an extra level to your visit, immersing you in the Tudor life. We are so lucky to live down the road from Hampton Court Palace and it’s one of our favourite places to visit.

St James’s Park

No trip to London would be complete without a trip to Buckingham Palace. When you arrive, take your time to stroll through the surrounding St James’s Park, admiring the newly-sprung daffodils, before taking in the iconic sight of the Changing of the Guard.

Stay close to all London attractions

When it comes to enjoying the London highlights above and many more besides, it’s truly all about the location. Though everything can be easily accessed by public transport like the Tube, the warmer weather can mean you could especially enjoyably take a stroll instead.

Choosing a well-located hotel such as the Dorsett Hotel, Shepherds Bush gives you the best of both worlds. You can ensure you are close to not only all the London highlights and tourist attractions on your bucket list but also transport links for exploration further afield.

So, there you have it. During your springtime holiday to London, make sure you take in all that London has to offer by fully appreciating the nature around us. These London highlights are definitely not to be missed.
