7 ways to freshen up your kitchen this Spring + #win

Tags: kitchen spring

It must be something about all that sunshine streaming into the Kitchen which suddenly makes you think….hmmmm….I think my kitchen could use a little TLC! So if your kitchen looks like it could use a little tidy up or perhaps a bit more loving, here are some ways you can freshen up your kitchen this Spring:

On a budget

Go for the small stuff first

One great option if you’re on a budget is to give your kitchen a face lift by making small changes here and then. The smaller features like lighting, door handles, a spice shelf and taps all make a difference.

Have a good clear out!

As the heart of the home, the kitchen tends to acculmilate a LOT of clutter. If you can’t remember the last time you saw a patch of uncovered worktop space, then your first port of call is to have a big clear of the surfaces and see how zen everything suddenly looks. You can also strip bare the fridge (mine looks like a veritable preschooler art show!), have a good sort out of the your cupboards and if you’ve got the space, think about installing a larder unit.

Get organised

Do you have an under the sink cupboard of chaos? Maybe your spice rack is crying out to be re-organised? Or perhaps your washing up area needs to be re-ordered. Go for small wins that can make a big difference.

Give it a lick of paint

It is amazing what a new lick of paint can do for a room. And if you’re on a tight budget, this can be one of the most cost effective ways to give your kitchen a new lease of life. If you don’t fancy just topping up with the same old shade, check out this list of 17 best kitchen paint colours for some inspo.

More money required!

Fit new cabinet doors

Hands up who’s got cabinet doors falling apart at the hinges? Well I for one have, and and whether they’re falling apart or they are just feeling a bit meh, replacing cabinet doors can be a big difference in your kitchen.

Replace the worktops

Good grief this is the one I need! Although I do love the rustic feel, I think there is a limit to how far you can push things before you just think….ummmmm….you really need replacing. A new kitchen worktop can really shake things up around the place. Push the boundaries and try something new – if you’ve always had wood, why not try limestone worktops instead?

Update the floors

This is another one I have been avoiding for the longest time but again, when your floors start going way beyond rustic farmhouse then it’s time for an update! But fret not…did you know that you don’t need to pull up all the old floor but that you can simply lay new flooring on top? Hurrah!

Are you thinking about giving your kitchen a refresh this Spring? Which of the above have you considered? Do leave a comment and share. And if you found this post useful why not check out these easy kitchen face lift ideas.
