What would you say if someone asked you to write a play about Snow White, her 7 Dwarves, a Prince, a Huntsman and an Evil Witch? Sure, no problem, right? Now, what if they asked you to write a play about Snow White, her 7 Dwarves, a Prince, a Huntsman and an Evil Witch…but you can only use TWO ACTORS! Mmmm, no. Not possible. Too hard. I’m out. Thankfully, that was not the response of playwright Greg Banks, who accepted the challenge and absolutely nailed it for the Children’s Theatre Company’s (CTC) latest stage show, Snow White. Banks uses wit, sincerity, a few clever and modern-aged twists, and yes, only TWO (incredibly talented, fast-paced) actors to tell his version of the story. The physical action and comedic timing of those two actors – Dean Holt and Joy Dolo – will keep adults and kids alike roaring in their seats (when they’re not on the edge of them).
