Everytime I get hungry I always attract good food to my belly. This time around, I was attracted to the Portuguese Chicken Burger newly launched by McDonald's Malaysia as part of their Discover the World on-going campaign; This time it's Portugal!
Inspired by the sights, sounds and flavours of Portugal, it really intrigues me to know how will this burger savour my tastebuds! Because it features a juicy Fried Chicken Patty that is dipped in a unique special portuguese piri-piri sauce served with a bed of mixed vegetables and fresh lettuce. Best of all, it is sandwiched between its brand new chilli flake bun!
After a long day at KidZania, our family decided to have a go at this new addition! Ordering was really simple at the self-ordering kiosk. We specifically requested for desserts as the new come back-by-popular-demand Dinosaur McFlurry was back and available.
A set of Portuguese Chicken Burger is served with French Fries and a Fanta Grape McFreeze or a regular coke, and it is priced from RM16.99. However, I am a fan of Ribena, so it was hard for me to resist not ordering the Ice Blended Ribena instead. It's still of the grape family (hehehe)!
I love how the packaging looks like, because it gives a sort of simplicity yet filled with some sort of excitement awaiting for me inside!
The color of the burger looks super vibrant and fun!
The sauce was almost about to ooze out and it was really fragrant to be honest, the scent of a mix rich flavour and spices that is really unique. It is hard to explain the burst of flavours of the sauce, but its piri-piri goodness did stand out!
The best part was actually the crispy and super succulent and juicy fried chicken patty that had my mouth was mouthwatering for more! Imagine sinking your teeth into hot fried and juicy chicken patty that is dipped in a sweet, fragrant, unique burst of flavour and spices piri-piri sauce with the soft chilli flake bun and mixed vegetables plus fresh lettuce that gives the entire experience a totally unique and out of the world of mixed emotions!
I loved it! It's very different from all the other burgers I've tasted in my life and this truly is a unique one and only. Hard to compare because there's nothing to compare and hard to explain as well because you just gotta try it for yourself.
We enjoyed their Dinosaur McFlurry though. We went all Dinosaur on the McFlurry.
Also, on the 4th of July, there's a new Augmented Reality game called Catching Nonando, where we have to catch as many Nonando Chickens as we can in 60 seconds to collect points! We will also be rewarded with discounts on the Portuguese Chicken Burger depending on how many Nonandos we can catch! The best part is there's a leaderboard that will track top players that will stand a chance to win 50,000 Air Asia BIG Points!
