Young children are in for a treat - thanks to professional storyteller Alex Jones and The Baby Cot Shop. The luxury nursery furniture store on King’s Road is hosting a free storytelling event in collaboration with Alex Shows. Children up to age 7 are invited to attend.

Taking place on December 11, Alex will present an hour of magical tales. She will perform a selection of Julia Donaldson stories, including The Gruffalo's Child, Stickman, The Highway Rat and Zog.

Toks Aruoture, of The Baby Cot Shop, says: “This is a wonderful opportunity for children to enjoy classic tales told by a professional storyteller and performer. Alex Jones is one of the UK’s most talented children’s entertainers and we are delighted to welcome her to The Baby Cot Shop.”

Everyone is welcome to attend this free event, but parents are requested to confirm their intention to attend.

Alex Jones trained in musical theatre at The Brit School of Performing Arts, London, and gained a BA(hons) in Performing Arts at Winchester University. She worked on the stage touring the UK before becoming a professional dancer, living and working in Paris for five years.

Alex Shows was founded seven years ago. The concept was inspired by Alex’s desire to put down roots and share her talents with audiences closer to home.

Julia Donaldson MBE is one of Britain’s most celebrated children’s authors. She was the Children's Laureate from 2011 to 2013 and is best known for her rhyming stories illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

You can see Alex Jones perform at The Baby Cot Shop at 408 King’s Road, Chelsea, London SW10 0LJ from 12noon to 1pm on December 11.
