Let’s Power Their Dreams: Olympic Games and Our Kids

This is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks/P&G.

We are a house of sports-playing, sports-loving boys. Soccer, basketball, baseball, swimming, karate, dance, and running are all activities my boys participate in.

Because we don’t know what they’ll end up really liking, we encourage our boys to try anything that interests them and then see what sticks. My youngest still wants to do all the sports, while my middle is narrowing it down. But for my oldest, it was when he found running that he found what he truly loves to do.

He likes that how he does depends on him and he can work towards beating his personal record. Though he does like being part of a running team and always wants to see how his teammates place, not just being interested in his own division. But running (and track and field) is a great option for kids who are more driven by individual goals and accomplishments rather than by the team dynamic. Plus, it is easy to see if they’ve improved from their previous time and score, not just based on where they place.

What powering his dreams means for me is early mornings to get my child to his races on time and cheering him on. And it also means that it’s Track and Field that holds his attention when it comes to the Olympic Games. We’ll be watching Ashton Eaton, who currently holds the world record in the decathlon event.

While we’ll be cheering from our couch, we can also buy the brands that support Team USA by shopping for P&G products at Walmart. These P&G products are available at Walmart for an everyday low price. I’m always thankful for those low prices since it helps us stay in our budget so we’re able to pay all those sports fees for our boys.

Since my son is still a few years away from needing a razor (like he’s a few years away from attempting the marathon that is his goal), my husband tried the Gillette® Fusion® ProShield® Razor with FlexBall™ Technology we were sent. It gives you lubrication before and after the blades to help shield your skin while you shave, has FlexBall Technology to give you maximum contact over your face’s contours to get virtually every hair and provides 5 precision blades for less tug and pull*.  (*Vs. Fusion razors)

Be sure to check out the brands that support Team USA.

What sports do your children play? What events are you most excited to watch during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games?
