Potty Training with Pampers Easy Ups {+A Giveaway!}

This post and giveaway were made possible by iConnect and Pampers. I was compensated for my participation in this campaign, but all opinions are 100% mine.My daughter, Kayleigh, turns 3 next month, and she has been in the process of potty training for quite a while now. I’d love for her to be completely potty trained, as I have a one year old in diapers right now, too, but I feel it’s best for her to do this at her own pace. I don’t want to force it onto her or make her feel pressured to do anything she is not comfortable doing.

Kayleigh has some good potty training days, and lots of days that aren’t really that great. As a parent going through potty training a child for the first time, I am always wondering if I am doing everything I should be doing to help her. Recently Pampers partnered with Dr. Laura Jana to give some great potty training tips, which have really helped me out. One of her tips is to watch for signs of readiness. Not every child is ready to potty train at the same age, so it’s important to watch your child for signs. Knowing this really helped me to feel better when I learned that my cousin had already completely potty trained her 9 month old, while Kayleigh, at nearly 3 years old, is still not even close yet. Children will learn at their own pace, and that is ok.

My 2 year old niece also recently became potty trained, so when Kayleigh and her got together several months ago, we let them go into the bathroom together. Kayleigh saw her cousin using the potty, and that’s when she really started putting a lot more effort into doing it herself. I think it really helps kids to feel more comfortable using the potty when they see others doing it.

Another thing that has helped us tremendously during this potty training transition, is using Pampers Easy Ups.

Pampers Easy Ups

Pampers Easy Ups have fun designs for boys (Thomas & Friends®) and girls (Dora the Explorer®). Kayleigh loves Dora, so of course, she loves wearing her too. Pampers Easy Ups are a more underwear-like design for growing toddlers. They have graphics that fade when wet to help little ones learn. Their super-stretchy sides make them easy to pull up and down when using the potty, which is good, because when they have to go, they have to go quickly! I love that they keep messes off Kayleigh’s clothing, bed, my furniture, carpets and other surfaces while she is in this training period. Pampers Easy Ups are available in sizes 2T/3T through 4T/5T.Pampers is hosting a Twitter Party with Dr. Laura Jana on April 28th from 9-10pmEST.
