Living in Maine, I am used to several months of cold weather each year. I’m not really a fan of the cold, but I know it’s really important and beneficial to still get outside for some fresh air during the cold months. So, I get the kids bundled up in their warm clothes and head outside to play!
Some of our favorite fall and winter activities include throwing or kicking a ball around the back yard, playing a game of “chase”, going for a walk around our (large) yard, building a snowman, and so much more. Last year, my husband and I had so much fun pulling the kids up and down the Snow-covered driveway in their snow sled. Not only was it a ton of fun for them, but it was great exercise for us! I’m thinking this year we will probably try to find a big hill to sled down, now that the kids are a bit older. That was always one of my favorite things to do as a kid.
We recently had our first snowfall of the season here in Maine, and the kids were chomping at the bit to go outside and check out the snow. They were so excited about the fluffy white stuff all over the ground, that I couldn’t even get them to look at the camera for a picture. We just got several more inches of snow, so building a snowman is next on our to-do list! I can’t wait to see the cute ideas they come up with!
In the early fall months, before the snow flies, we like to hit up our favorite playground, where the kids love to swing and run around. They always have so much fun there!
