A Magnetic Dollhouse Your Child Can Build Over and Over Again

We received Malia’s House  from Build & Imagine at no cost to facilitate this review. All opinions are 100% our own.

Kayleigh has such a wild and vivid imagination. She has lots of dolls and figurines and just loves to act out stories while playing with them. She will sit at the table, or on the floor, and do this for hours on end. I love listening to all the different stories she comes up with. She shows such emotion when she plays each of the characters, and she really has so much fun.

She was so excited when she first opened the package with Malia’s House inside. She had been wanting a dollhouse for her dolls and figurines to play in for a while now, and when I told her she could actually build this one all by herself, she got even more excited.

Malia’s House includes 58 pieces that provide endless variations to spark creativity. There are 16 dual-sided StoryWall building panels (10 squares, 2 rectangles, 2 right-angle triangles, and 2 roof triangles), and 40 magnetic accessories. I was very impressed with the quality of all of these pieces. They are very sturdy and well-made, and will last a long time, even under the rough play of a 3 year old. They have already been dropped on the floor and colored on (it washed right off!), and the set still looks great.

The magnetic pieces hold together very well, and can be arranged in any way that your child wants, providing for endless house design possibilities.

I just love all of the magnetic accessories that came with this set. Kayleigh has so much fun putting the magnets on different scenes in the houses she creates, and dressing up the 2 dolls that came with this set.

The day Kayleigh opened this set, she played with it for 4 hours straight! We have had Malia’s House for a little over a week now, and she has requested to play with it every single day. Not only does this play set foster her imagination, but it also helps to develop early engineering skills (spatial reasoning, problem solving, and creativity), as well as language skills.

Malia’s House is the winner of Dr. Toy’s Best Classic Award, Parents’ Choice Gold Award, The National Parenting Center Seal of Approval, and PAL’s Top Ten Toys of 2014, so it’s really no surprise that it is such a popular toy! This set is recommended for children ages 4-8, but my daughter is 3.5 and she is having a blast with it. I know this Magnetic Dollhouse is a toy that will grow with her, as she will learn to build more elaborate houses as she gets older.

Build & Imagination has several other magnetic sets to choose from, including a Pet Portrait Studio, Fairytale Theater, Marine Rescue Center & more! Follow Build & Imagine on Facebook and Twitter to stay connected.
