Make Your Own Native American Headdress

Celebrate Native-American culture and our proud Thanksgiving tradition by having your children or students make their own Native-American inspired headdress.

MATERIALS USED FOR THIS PROJECT:

Hygloss Make-Your-Own Hat

Hygloss Bucket O-Sequins

Scissors

Glue

Glue Stick

Magic Markers

STEP ONE:

Color your feathers on your headdress! Native-American headdress’ are known for their beautiful, brightly colored feathers. Use colored pencils, crayons, paint, or magic markers to draw and color in your feathers. We used colored magic markers for our example.

You can make your feathers as large as you like, make sure that you make them big enough so that you can cut out around the top to make the silhouette of your headdress.

STEP TWO:

Carefully trim the top of your features to make an outline of your feather headdress.

STEP THREE:

Carefully cut a strip of Hygloss Gold Metallic Foil Paper the width and height of your headband to make the harness for your colorful feathers! This will complete the look of your headdress and give your head ware some shine!

STEP FOUR:

Finish your design by adding Hygloss sequins, buttons, glitter, or any other materials to complete your look!

Now you are celebrating one of our most treasured national holidays in style!
