What Should I Give my Baby after 6 Months?

Tags: formula baby milk

As a new mum, you would love to give the best nutrition to your child. But what if you’re unsure about which formula to give him as supplement?

Let us get to know more about the different formula you can give to your child.

Whole milk has 8g of fat and 8g of protein. It is called whole milk because it is intact compared to ‘2 percent’, ‘1 percent’ and ‘nonfat milk’. Whole milk is also less creamy and caloric. However, whole milk is not recommended for babies under 12 months of age for the following reasons:
  • Compared to breastmilk and formula, it is low in iron, linelic acid and Vitamin E
  • Whole cow’s milk has sodium, potassium, protein and chloride not easy to handle for little kidneys
  • It may cause allergic reaction

At the age of seven months, your baby is now ready for different textures like mashed baby food. So, Step 2 formula, like Dumex Mamil Gold Step 2, is advisable to use after six months. It is also called as ‘follow-on formula’. Follow-on formula is intended to support nutritional needs of infants. It is suitable for 6-12 months.

Step 2 formula is also formulated for growing infants and includes the following nutrients.

Prebiotics

promote the growth of good Bifidus bacteria to maintain healthy digestive system

DHA, ARA

important building blocks for the development of the brain and eyes of baby

Taurine
