3 Tools Every Homeschool Family Needs

Homeschooling can be demanding for parents but with the right tools, you can keep things running smoothly. In addition to paper, pencils, books, arts and craft supplies and other necessities you need a few extra things to make your class more fun, interesting and productive.

Here are three tools every homeschool family needs:

A good all-in-one printer.

You’ll be surprised at how often you will use this device. From worksheets to daily schedules, your all-in-one printer will get a good workout. Our all-in-one printer died and I bought a regular printer. I tried to rationalize that it was enough. A few days in, and I returned it for another all-in-one.

A daily calendar and lesson planner.

One of the biggest challenges homeschool parents face is keeping up with everything you have to do from going to appointments to planning lesson. These tools will help you stay organized and on schedule throughout the year.

A medium or large blackboard.

A blackboard or whiteboard makes it easy to do spelling lessons or math problems. Also, your kids will have a ball drawing on it. Using a blackboard will also make your lessons more fun and interesting for the kids, so they’ll pay more attention in class.

Don’t have the wall space for a bigger size board? You can find inexpensive ones that are easy to carry and still get the job done. We also like to use these with letter magnetic tiles for spelling lessons.

These simple and inexpensive items can improve your homeschool experience and make learning more fun and productive for the whole family.
