You might have heard of celebrities adopting kids, going the surrogate way or even opting for an IVF to have kids. However, there are a few couples who mutually decided to remain childless, due to various reasons and also led a happy life.
Some Bollywood couples had kids from their first Marriage but decided to remain childless from their second marriage. Here’s a list of such couples who did not need a ‘kiddish’ reason to stay together!
Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi

Javed has two kids – Zoya and Farhan Akhtar from his marriage with Honey Irani. However, due to a difference in opinion, their relationship ended on a bitter note. After this, Javed sealed the deal with Shabana Azmi. The couple mutually decided not to have kids and Shabana considers Zoya and Farhan her own children since then.
Anupam Kher and Kirron Kher

Anupam and Kirron met during their theatre days back in the 80’s. It was during that time that Kirron was getting over her divorce to Gautam Berry. Kirron had a son (Sikander) from her first marriage. However, Anupam married her and Sikander went on to adopt Anupam’s surname. The couple later wanted to have kids of their own, but due to a medical reason, they dropped the idea.
Mohammad Azharuddin and Sangeeta Bijlani

India’s most successful captain and one of the famous model-turned-actresses in the 90’s, Azharuddin and Sangeeta tied the knot in 1996. Azhar who was already married by then divorced his first wife and married Sangeeta. It was after this that Azhar saw downfall as a cricketer. The couple remained childless, despite Azhar having two sons from his previous marriage.
Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu

One of the most wanted actors of the 50s and 60s, Dilip Kumar found it very hard to break up with Madhubala, when he met Saira. However, Dilip and Saira then tied the knot in 1966. Saira did conceive soon after the marriage, but due to an unfortunate miscarriage, she could never give birth to one thereafter. The couple then accepted their fate and remained childless.
