Richard Ramirez is a serial killer who terrorized the area of California and was dubbed as “The Night Stalker.” His method of killing includes stabbing, shooting and beating the victims. There are also signs that some of his victims were raped and robbed. Some bodies of the victims are also mutilated and beyond recognition.
His thirst for killing might be influenced by a cousin named Mike who works for a Special Force during the Vietnam War. He would occasionally show him pictures of Vietnamese whom he killed and tortured. On the night that Mike killed his wife, Ramirez witness everything, her blood showered his face when Mike shot her.

On the 17thof March 1985 Ramirez shot Maria Hernandez (22) before she can even enter her house. He went inside and saw Dayle Okazaki whom he immediately shot and killed. Fortunately Hernandez was able to survive that attack. The bullet intended for her was blocked by the keys that she held in her hand. His next victim would be Tsai-Lian Yu at the Monterey Park. He forced her out of the car and shot him several times. The officers found Tsai-Lian Yu and noticed that she is still breathing. The three attacks that happened on a single day caused panic and fear to the public.
It was March 27, when Vincent Zazarra and wife Maxine was shot by Ramirez. Their bodies were repeatedly stabbed by Ramirez. He also left a T carving on the breast of Maxine and had her eyes plucked out. The police were able to locate a footprint that Ramirez left, the only evidence that the authority is holding at that time. Bullets located on the crime scene also matched the shooting incident that happened on the 17th of March. The officials quickly warned the public to be careful since there is a serial killer on the loose.
Two months passed, Ramirez attack Harold Wu and Jean Wu, a couple of Chinese descent. Harold Wu was shot in point blank in the head while Jean Wu was punched and raped. For some reason, Ramirez let Jean Wu survived.
By the time of his arrest there are already 16 deaths attributed to him. In some cases he also uses a lipstick and drew a sign of pentagram on a victim’s legs and also on her wall. A sign which show a demonic pact and incidentally he also have the same sign drawn on his palm. On August 24, 1985, Ramirez went to Los Angeles and broke into the apartment of Bill Carns and Inez Erickson. He shot Carnz in the head and raped Erickson. He told her to pledge her allegiance to Satan and instructed her to perform an oral sex. He then stole her Orange Toyota station wagon that led to his arrest. The police were able to track down the stolen car but the perpetrator was no longer in sight. Fortunately they were able to get a fingerprint sample in the car; they identified the owner of the fingerprint as Richard Munoz Ramirez.
During his first day in hearing, Ramirez allegedly held his hand up while showing the hand drawn pentagram on his palm and yelled “Hail Satan”. Ramirez died inside the prison on June 7, 2013.
