There it is again. That thump thump thump coming from downstairs. As soon as I get out of bed it stops. Night after night it happens. What could it be? The alarm is set. No one has broken in to the house. Yet it happens and has been happening for a couple weeks. The night is usually quiet after I get back in bed. Sleep comes easily considering what I’ve been hearing. What will tomorrow night bring?
