It was sitting in the store window as I passed by and I had to stop and look at it. It was the deepest red with a slightly less red area around the top. As I went into the shop I felt like something was trying to get my attention. Shaking it off, I asked about the stocking and after the clerk told me it was on sale, I bought it and took it home. It almost felt like no time had passed when I went into my house. Setting it on the counter and thinking I would hang it up after I took a shower and relaxed a bit, I went about my task.

Later on, after I hung it on the mantle above the fireplace and watched a good movie, I went to bed. That night I dreamt about a figure coming into my room and sitting on my bed. That was all I remembered about the dream.

At work the next day, people would stare at me funny and it had me confused. What a weird day. At home, I noticed the stocking alonst right away. It seemed darker than it was. Thinking it was just the lighting, I thought no more about it.

That night I again dreamed of a dark figure sitting on my bed. Only this time, it leaned down a bit. Nothing more. This was getting a bit odd.

At work the next day, people were not only giving me weird looks, they were whispering to each other. Was there something wrong with me? I felt ok. It was getting more odd. The day ended and I went home again. The stocking I noticed seemed to have moved a bit. Of course it couldn’t have I thought to myself.

This went on for about a week. Then I went to sleep that night and woke up sitting in a window facing the street and noticed myself looking back at me and smirking. How can this be? I looked down at my blood red form and looked back up to see myself walk away.
