There are many things to be wary of in the city. In the dark alleys, subway tunnels and other places we may find ourselves in.

The city was a little intimidating that first day. I didn’t have anywhere special to be so I went exploring. It is easy to get lost as I found out. All the skyscrapers are easy to separate so all I really needed to do was remember the closest one to where I lived.

After walking for about an hour I felt someone behind me. I was about to look around when I heard “don’t look behind you”. It didn’t sound like someone around me said anything as I couldn’t hear any other people walking or talking. I kept walking and after about ten minutes, I felt something or someone watching me. Before I could look around I heard it again “don’t look behind you”.

After that, I just wanted to get back to my place. When I arrived one of my neighbors saw me and said I hope the city isn’t too much for you on your first day. I replied nervously, no it is fine. We said bye and as I was walking in my neighbor turned and said don’t worry about when you hear don’t look behind you, they just like to scare new people.
