Roamin’ in the Wilds: What is in Ghana

Ghana, in Africa, is a pretty diverse place. Forests and grasslands as well as south coast shrub lands dominate the landscape. Plenty of places for creatures to hide and take a swim if they want. Here are a few of those:

Sasabonsam – A bearded man faced creature that stands about 5 feet tall with a twenty foot wingspan, black and white spotted fur and appearing less human than described by some. It also has huge teeth and heavy ridges above its eyes. (Don’t think I would like to see one of these unless I’m in a car or building somewhere)

The Adze is another weird creature. It is said to be a vampire creature that takes the form of a firefly. If you catch one of these it is reported that it will revert to a human form and may attack and eat your organs. (So pretty much, don’t catch one) The victim of an Adze attack could become a witch after it drains all of the blood from the body and possesses it.

It doesn’t seem like Ghana has very many cryptids roamin’ around. I could be wrong about that. If you live in Ghana or have visited and have a story, please send it our way.
