UFO Reports from the Past

UFO Reports from the Past

Before they were called UAPs, they were just simply called UFOs. The term UFO was coined by the Air Force in 1952. The recent official shift to UAP (unidentified anomalous phenomena) began to take hold in 2020 when the Pentagon established the Navy-led UAP Task Force to investigate reports. The Pentagon updated its terminology in December 2022 to encompass submerged and trans-medium objects. NASA and other agencies soon followed suit.

What follows is a small list of reported events involving unidentified flying objects.
* In 1997, thousands of people in Arizona, Nevada, and Mexico witnessed a series of lights in a V-shaped formation that moved across the sky for several minutes. This event is known as the Phoenix Lights and is one of the most famous Ufo Sightings in history. Some witnesses reported seeing a huge triangular craft, while others saw only the lights. The US Air Force claimed that the lights were flares dropped by military aircraft, but many people remain skeptical.

* In 2004, hundreds of people in Mexico City observed a fleet of spherical objects that hovered and maneuvered in the sky for over an hour. The objects were captured on video by several witnesses, including a TV crew and a police officer. The Mexican government did not offer any official explanation for the phenomenon, which was dubbed the Mexican Air Force UFOs. Some researchers suggested that the objects were balloons or drones, but others argued that they exhibited intelligent behavior and advanced technology.

* In 2008, dozens of people in Stephenville, Texas, reported seeing a large silent object with bright lights flying at high speed and low altitude over the town. Some witnesses said that the object was chased by military jets, while others said that it was followed by smaller objects. The US Air Force initially denied any involvement but later admitted that it had conducted training flights in the area. However, some witnesses and experts disputed the Air Force’s explanation, claiming that the object was too big and fast to be a conventional aircraft.

* In 1994, more than 60 Children at the Ariel School in Ruwa, Zimbabwe claimed that they saw a UFO and an alien during their recess. The children described the UFO as a silver disc and the alien as a small humanoid with large eyes and a black suit. They also said that the alien communicated with them telepathically, warning them about the environmental problems on Earth. The case was investigated by several UFO researchers, including Harvard psychiatrist John E. Mack, who interviewed the children and found them to be sincere and consistent. However, some skeptics have suggested that the children were influenced by mass hysteria, cultural beliefs, or media reports of previous UFO sightings.

* In 1966, hundreds of students and staff at Westall High School and Westall State School in Melbourne, Australia witnessed multiple UFOs flying silently through the sky before landing in a nearby field. Some students even claimed to have seen a creature in a silver suit near the UFOs. The incident lasted for about 20 minutes and was also observed by local residents and pilots. The Australian government and military denied any involvement or knowledge of the event, but some witnesses reported being visited by men in black suits who warned them not to talk about what they saw. Some researchers have speculated that the UFOs were experimental aircraft, weather balloons, or optical illusions, but others have argued that they were extraterrestrial vehicles or visitors.

* In 1977, dozens of children at Broad Haven Primary School in Pembrokeshire, Wales reported seeing a UFO and an alien on their playground. The children described the UFO as a cigar-shaped object with a dome on top and the alien as a tall figure in a silver suit with pointed ears and clawed hands. The case was investigated by the local police, who found no evidence of a hoax or prank but could not explain what the children saw. The case was also part of a larger wave of UFO sightings and paranormal phenomena in the area, known as the Dyfed Triangle or the Welsh Triangle. Some possible explanations for the sightings include military exercises, natural gas leaks, or mass hallucinations, but none of them have been conclusively proven or disproven. Most of the explanations are ridiculous.

The above is only a few events that were witnessed by groups of people as opposed to a single witness.

Here are a few more interesting cases.

F-51 Mustang

* In 1952, a US Air Force pilot named George F. Gorman engaged in a dogfight with a small, glowing orb over Fargo, North Dakota. The orb outmaneuvered and outsped Gorman’s F-51 Mustang, and at one point, it seemed to collide with his plane but left no damage. The incident was dubbed the Gorman UFO Dogfight and was investigated by Project Blue Book, but no conclusive explanation was found.

* In 1967, a large, saucer-shaped object landed on the water near Shag Harbour, Nova Scotia, Canada. Several witnesses reported seeing the object and its lights, as well as hearing a loud noise and seeing yellow foam on the surface. The Canadian military and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police searched for the object but found nothing. The case was classified as an unsolved mystery and became known as the Shag Harbour Incident.

* In 1976, four Iranian Air Force pilots attempted to intercept a bright, flashing object over Tehran, Iran. The object evaded their pursuit and jammed their instruments, causing them to abort their mission. The object also reportedly sent out a smaller object that approached one of the planes and then returned. The incident was witnessed by ground radar and civilian observers and was reported to the US Defense Intelligence Agency, which concluded that the object was of unknown origin and displayed advanced technology.

* In 1980, three US Air Force security patrolmen encountered a triangular craft with bright lights in Rendlesham Forest, near RAF Woodbridge in Suffolk, England. The craft left physical marks on the ground and trees and was detected by radar. Two nights later, the deputy base commander and other personnel saw more lights and beams in the same area. The case was documented in a memo by the deputy base commander, which was later released to the public. The case became known as the Rendlesham Forest Incident or Britain’s Roswell.

* In 1996, a Brazilian Air Force operation codenamed Operation Saucer investigated a series of UFO sightings and close encounters in the Amazon region near the town of Colares. The operation collected hundreds of photos, videos, and testimonies from witnesses who claimed to have seen disc-shaped objects that emitted beams of light that burned or injured people and animals. The operation was terminated after four months and its files were kept secret until 2005, when they were partially declassified. The case became known as the Colares UFO Flap or the Chupa-Chupa Phenomenon.

These are just a few of the interesting cases and events that have taken place over the years. Just what or what these things are is open for debate. I have my own opinion on what I think they are but I don't want to get into all that today.

I would assume that not all of the things people see or have seen are ships/crafts. I would think some of them are more of an energy and that could explain some of the abilities. I think people are witnessing different but similar phenomena.

Hope you enjoyed the post.
