I thought I would check in with you about summer activities.  It's been fairly quiet aside from the usual wood knocks and my wife is usually the one hearing them and she is still a skeptic but I think all the things happening to her are wearing her down.  Several times throughout the summer when she's kenneled her dogs up my wife has come inside and talked about how spooky it is with the woods, they are dead silent, with no sounds whatsoever.  This probably happened at least once a week.  Her dogs stay around the House with a wireless barrier, but will at times break that barrier and chase a stray dog that comes up or a raccoon or skunk.  However, anytime the woods have been silent they stay on the porch right next to the door and will not venture off far from the porch.   

Last night she had a very interesting thing happen to her.  I went up to get ready for bed around 10:00pm and she said I will be up in a few minutes.  She has a routine where she gets her two dogs inside and kennels them up for the night and then she will sit on the front porch and listen to the woods for a few minutes before getting their food bowls and bringing them inside to keep bears away from the house and last night was no exception to her routine.

In a few minutes, she came upstairs and was quiet for a minute and said I heard something strange outside in the woods just now and I got the look which I now know is, it wasn't a normal animal or woods sound and I know what you are going to say it is look.  I said well tell me about it and she said it was a howl between our house and her mom's house and she said it was close! Then she heard two more in the distance. She said I tried to record the latter two but they were far off and I said open the window and let's listen and we killed any noise in the room and listened and heard nothing else but normal wood sounds in the evening.  We closed the window and went on with our usual getting ready-for-bed routine. 

This morning I sent her a clip I found on howls allegedly from bigfoot and she replied that's it, identical, the first two sounds but more the first one on this clip. The first one was an exact match to the loud howl she first heard.
