Linux Mint 18.1 to Ship with MATE 1.16 and New Mint-Y Theme by Default

We told you the other day that Linux Mint project leader Clement Lefebvre revealed the new look of the upcoming Linux Mint 18 "Sarah" operating system, due for release this summer. Mint-Y is the name of the new Linux Mint 18 "Sarah" theme, which appears to be based on the very popular Arc GTK theme, and it makes use of the Moka and Paper icon sets for applications and directories respectively. The Mint-Y theme provides users with a modern flat design, but it looks like it won't be the default for the Linux Mint 18 "Sarah" operating system, which will sport the same default look like the one of Linux Mint 17.3 "Rosa," based on the Mint-X theme.
