The Story of the Greatest Storytellers

Stories are eternal, Stories are forever, they are the truth which we need to implement in our lives, and they are the new magical weapon which can change the way we live and do business. Did it ever happen to you that watch a movie and it becomes close to your heart forever? Have you heard a story from your grandparents that you never able to forgot? The best advertising campaigns take us on an emotional journey- appealing to our wants, needs, and desires- while at the same time telling us about a product or service.”  Well, that’s something related to the marketing of a company, but we are here for a different purpose.  We are here to revive the memory of greatest storytellers and the prime message they have given us, it’s about the greatest storytellers of all time So, let’s get started-:

1. Steve Jobs

Some might surprise to see the name of the creator of Apple.inc in the list of greatest storytellers, as steve was the inventor and he told many stories to public. But job knows that in order to succeed the true apple product–he necessities followers for his products who share stories on their own and yes, help it to move forward through their circle. It was a time when Facebook and Whatsapp weren’t into existence. Yet, he somehow did the magic. One of the greatest sign of a storyteller is that he knows how to get others tell their stories for them. For achieving that, you stories necessities the two basic aspects, the power of remembrance, and yes, motivate. If your stories hold the influence, emotional significance, and relatable aspect- which will be presentable in a nice and better way – your audience will do the task for you.

Message– Formulate the experience worth giving stories for, and your listeners will do the work for you.

2. Richard Branson- Founder of Virgin Group

Best known as the most successful founder of Virgin Group (Includes more than 400 companies), Richard Branson has formed the stardom of his own. Undeniably, RB is one of the greatest- richest- and most prominent men in this world.  Apart from his financial success, the things which make him different from the swarm is that he never runs away from a talk, a chance to tell stories about the moments of his life, and the lives of the people close to him. He bluntly shares what comes in his mind, what he does, and what he’s seen- and his transparency of his behavior, reflect in his brand. When asked about Storytelling, Richard says, “Storytelling is the best way we have to come up with new ideas. I believe that the potency to market or sell ideas form of stories is essential to any profession or business triumphs.”

Message – It’s the flaws, which makes the story more captivating and relatable. So, don’t worry much about hiding or polishing your flaws, rather show them with courage. It will help you be more realistic and facilitate people to connect with you.

3. Walt Disney

“That’s what storytellers do. We restore order with imagination. We instill hope again and again.” Yes, these words are from one of the greatest storyteller of all time, i.e., Walt Disney. He is renowned as the creator of a whole new dimension, and as an artist who had the ability to transcend any group of people to a whole new world of his compelling stories. He will always be remembered as one of the greatest storyteller of all time.

Message– it’s not in the big thing where you should focus, it’s the small things. Use the small details to create a truly mesmeric experience. However, ensure yourself that you don’t detract the customers from your story line.

4. Sheryl Sandberg- COO Facebook

The list of storytellers of the decade can never be complete without Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook and the author of Lean in.  What made her different is her ability of utlizing the platform to addressing the most communal problems of people through personal stories, the stories which everyone can understand and relate at a personal level. She does the magic by generating true sympathy in her readers and listeners and encourages them to rise above and achieve phenomenal heights.

Message:  Undeniably, Sharing personal and true stories make you feel quite a lot weak and vulnerable, but it’s the weakness and vulnerability that helps people relates and connects to you. 

Someone has said so that you can’t sell anything if you aren’t telling anything.
