Pool story goes viral

We love it when one of our stories exceeds expectations and gets shared around the world. That’s exactly what happened  with our latest Story for client Compass Pools.

We’ve been talking to the client about several upcoming projects and immediately saw the PR potential in their design for ‘Infinity London’ a glass sided rooftop infinity pool designed to top a city skyscraper.

We dubbed the design the world’s first infinity pool with 360 degree views and pitched copy and images hard to media.

First to take the story was the Independent, quickly followed by the Mail Online and The Sun. Things began to snowball with Lad Bible and Mashable both picking up the story followed by Metro and the Daily Telegraph. Soon we were struggling to log Coverage such was the volume of media interest with items on BBC Breakfast and coverage flying in from The Irish Times and across the world in multiple languages. Writers at this Swiss site were particularly amazed.

We logged coverage from as far as Australia and New Zealand. It also did big business in the USA with national TV network NBC picking it up and coverage across CNN and the New York Post among many others. Engagement across social media was also very healthy with thousands of shares, likes and comments.

The story also did very well across trade titles likely to be viewed by architects and designers with coverage on titles such as e-architect and Building Products among many others.

We are still logging coverage and fielding media requests but opportunities to see have already topped 100 million.

London PR director Steve McComish said: “It always a buzz for the whole team when a story catches fire like this and goes round the world. We are so happy for the client.”
