Title Algorithm Updates for Multi-language or Transliterated Titles

Google has introduced a new “algorithmic improvement” that identifies documents where the title element is written in a different language or script from its content and chooses a title that is similar to the language and script of the document.

Google said this algorithm update is “based on the general principle that a document’s title should be written by the language or script of its primary contents”.

Google Ads Shares Three Automation Best Practices

Google has released a Search Ads Automation Guide that highlights the best practices on how to use automation to reach customers and attempts to answer users’ questions and concerns around automation.

It includes the use of a broad match keyword strategy, smart bidding strategies, and the use of responsive search ads.

Three New Hotels Travel Products on Google Ads

Google announced three new features to actively open the onboarding process for hotels wanting to list their rates or provide booking links through Google. The new feature includes Industry-standard protocols, bypassing technical spreadsheets, and open access to Hotel Ads.

  • Industry-standard protocols. Google will support industry-standard protocols for bringing hotel rates online.
  • Hotels will no longer be required to upload complicated spreadsheets and files to add rates to their Google Business Profile. Instead, Google is simplifying this process by allowing to directly input their rates into their profiles.
  • Open access to Hotel Ads. Hotels will no longer need a Hotel Center account to run campaigns. This means that any Google advertiser can search for and run campaigns for any hotel’s website.

Google Ads launches v11 of API

Google Ads just announced v11 of their API, the version includes ad schedules for local services, support for manual CPA, campaign performance max upgrade status, added asset source, and migrations and updates for Smart campaigns.

The updated client libraries and code will be published next week.

Campaign Manager 360 July 2022 Trafficking Updates

Campaign Manager 360 announced that the new entity limits announced last year are being enforced.

Dynamic asset selection for in-stream video within video creatives and user list sharing from Google Ads to CM360 will be removed, because of low/no usage.

Google Expands Verification Process for Financial Service Advertisers

Google announced the expansion of its Ads Financial Products and Services policy to Australia, Singapore and Taiwan in an effort to fight financial fraud and scams. The search company will expand the verification requirements in additional countries and regions in the coming months.

Google said the verification process will require financial services advertisers in these markets “to demonstrate that they are authorised by their relevant financial services regulator, and have completed Google’s advertiser verification program in order to begin promoting their products and services“.

Google May 2022 Core Update is Finished Rolling Out

Google has confirmed that the May 2022 core update is now finished rolling out. The update took 15 days to roll out, starting on May 25, 2022, and ending on June 9, 2022.

Google made the announcement via Twitter earlier today that the update has completed its rollout.
