The Challenge
The factory was running with multiple manufacturing processes from design, and engineering, to manufacturing besides supporting multiple machinery across the industry. This circumstance resulted in many challenges, like
- Getting the right information on the usage of machinery
- The exact number of output processed
- The faults and the downtime of the machinery
- The availability of stock and the shortage of raw materials
Our Approach
To begin with, we engaged frequently with the client and made a brief study on the client’s existing processes and took notes on their daily operations.
Based on the study, we arrived at a simple-to-use and custom-developed data processing software application to be hosted on the client’s premises. This application will enable the client to upload all the data from various departments in one system.
We also came to know that uploading the data alone will not help the client to make decisions for the future. Therefore, we introduced the client to a SaaS-based tool, Qlik Sense, that can automatically analyze and present active reports.
Result
The software application helped the client to
- Access data across manufacturing, engineering, procurement, inventory, stock, machine run counts, etc. in one system
- Manage teams and the processes through data-driven reports
- Have a full control on the AI-driven analytics report that can be generated on-demand, or daily, or cross-functional basis
Conclusion
